SCORE
If three or more jewels lie adjectant to another they are
removed and scored using this formula: 1000 x (jewels-2)^2. This means
the more jewels you remove at one time the more points you you score
(eg. for 3 jewels you get 1000, but for 5 jewels you score 9000
points). Additional you get points for every row of jewels you place
successful on the screen. This score is dependant on the time you need
to do so.
GRAPHICS IN DETAIL
JEWELS - the ordinary jewels.
DARK - a jewel like the ordinary ones above, except you wont see it much.
BOULDER - a boulder that cant be removed. (but morphed, see below)
JOKER - this will fit into any row of jewels but wont score.
MORPH - this will morph all adjacent jewels and boulders.
BOMB - this blows away all adjacent jewels and boulders.
STAR - on impact the shooting star will generate jewels on all adjectant places.
SUNBURST - this will burn down the hole scene.
FULLMOON - this will morph all jewels and boulders on screen.
But you will need to sweep away many jewels at the very same time to recieve an single extra...
INFORMATION ABOUT THE GAME
It took me about one day to port this game from our old pascal source to Java.
In fact i had to rewrite the most stuff to integrate nicely with the Java AWT.
After all the core took about 5 hours and additional 2 hours for the graphics.
The graphics and audio are the original ones from Marc Oliver Orth
converted to appropiate WWW formats.
Three great tools I used to make up all this were
GoldWave
Digital Audio Editor,
PaintShopPro
Graphics Converter and
Textpad
Editor.
