Note: The app is not signed by a paid Apple certificate. Check that the download is genuine from the official triq.net site, then follow Apple’s Open a Mac app from an unidentified developer:

“If you try to open an app that isn’t registered with Apple, you get a warning dialogue. This doesn’t necessarily mean that something’s wrong with the app.”

To get unsigned apps working in macOS Catalina and later, you will need to remove the quarantine attribute.

  • Check that the download is genuine from the official triq.net site.
  • Move the downloaded zip file to the Desktop.
  • Double-click the zip to extract the app.
  • Open „Terminal“ and type (or copy and paste the two lines)

cd Desktop
xattr -d -r com.apple.quarantine "MP3 Scan+Repair.app"

This will remove the quarantine (downloaded from the web) status and allow you to open the app.
